We hope you avoided the Pax Pox! We had a busy weekend without you and took in a huge pile of used games. There’s some staples of every family-game collection, like Pente, Scattergories, Hoax, Risk, Snohomish County-opoly and Oh Hell. And there’s a bunch of first-wave European imports from the late 90s, like Modern Art, Montgolfiere, Quo Vadis, Message to the Czar, Space Walk and Buffalo. I suppose I should also mention the wargames too: War: Age of Imperialism, Material World, Worldkiller (by SPI), Third Reich and others! Here’s a few pics. See you soon! September 1, 2014 What’s Happening? Today: Magic Homeroom @ 2pm; Pathfinder Society @ 6pm; Magic Tournament – Standard format [$5] @ 6:30pm. Sunday: Deckbuilding Games w/ Trent and Beth @ 2:30pm; Iron Kingdoms RPG @ 7pm. A few new titles came in today before the post-Gen Con flood. The one we’re really excited about is Impuse, the new card game by the brains behind Glory to Rome and Innovation, Carl Chudyk. 2-6 players can play this card game of space exploration, expansion, exploitation and extermination. And it plays in under an hour. For you horror fans out there, there is a new edition of Ted Alspach’s Ultimate Werewolf, a deluxe edition featuring a ton of new roles and scenarios. It supports up to 75 players with evocative art and a guidebook able to take you through a small gathering of friends up to that huge convention event. And for the fantasy enthusiasts, we have Eight-Minute Empire: Legends. Now, we had plain-old Eight-Minute Empires and have had a lot of fun playing it. Legends removes the resource gathering element of the cards and adds a larger board, special abilities, fantasy creatures and new play variants. Lastly, for you computer gamers out there, we have World of Tanks: Rush, a card game of WWII tank warfare. Lead your tanks into battle, defend your bases, call for reinforcements and receive medals!
