Designer’s Notes
“Ticket to Ride: Switzerland still my favorite map. It’s all about drawing tickets. In every game I play, all of the tickets will be drawn. I like to build a route from Zurich to Bern, and then start drawing tickets. Depending on what tickets I get, I extend my route to include Basel, Geneva, St. Gallen, and as many of the four countries as possible.
The country to country tickets drive some of the strategy, although trying to complete them is not the only viable strategy in the game. The first time I played with the former Days Of Wonder owner Eric Hautemont, Eric used a strategy of building across the southern part of the board where there are longer routes, and he won quite handily.”
